What is Resilience?

When you think of the work resilience, what do you think of? Is there a person that comes to your mind? Is that person you?

Webster’s dictionary defines resilience as an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.


"Each time someone overcomes a trial, identifies a challenge and create a solution; each time someone looks fear in the eye and face it: resilience develops."



How can you apply this definition to the person that you are today? Many times, people go th

rough life experiences without giving themselves the credit that they have survived. They have “pushed through” or “gotten over it” and never looked back to see the ways in which they've changed and grown. Each time someone overcomes a trial, identifies a challenge and creates a solution; each time someone looks fear in the eye and faces it: resilience develops.


You have the power to look at your circumstances as obstacles, barriers, or limitations. You also have the power to see those same circumstances as opportunities to build resilience and grow into the new you that you are working so hard to become.
